IIT M to offer social entrepreneurship programme

Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-M) will offer an International Winter School on Social Entrepreneurship programme, a two-week course of experiential learning, selfstudy and peer learning opportunities about social entrepreneurship.

It provides classroom knowledge, immersive learning opportunities to participants. The participants will be evaluated on their assignments, presentations and reports. 

The course offered will focus on teaching and research related to social enterprise in India, said R Nagarajan, Dean (International and Alumni Relations), IIT-M. 

Professor LS Ganesh, who is leading the programme, said, “It brings social entrepreneurs from domains such as health, livelihood, microfinance, agriculture and energy.” The application for winter school is open, and the programme dates are from December 3 to 14. The early bird deadline for international students is May 11, and the regular deadline is June 1. Indians can apply between August and November.
