Unhappy with the report which favoured the four accused – all of whom have political affiliations – the TARATDAC and AIDWA set the report on fire. “Right from the beginning, the local police and the CB-CID were all ignoring the evidences adduced in there in favour of the victim. In the first medical report, the doctor had stated, ‘As the victim’s hymen was intact, she was not raped’. Despite the fact that the Dharmapuri Medical College’s report indicated that her hymen had broken, and it was possible that she had been gangraped. However, the second report was not taken,” said Nambu Rajan, a member of TARATDAC.
“It is evident that the investigation has not been done judicially. While the innocent victim has been framed as an offender and a case has been filed against her in the court, the accused are happily spared. We cannot approve of the report and will continue to demand justice for the girl,” the protesters said.
