With focus on giving employability training to students at a young age Kalasalingam University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SMART Training Resources, Chennai to give their students end-to- end training solutions and equip them with employability traits like language and communication skills, life skills and aptitude skills. The course will be conducted along with the regular curriculum from the first year to the final year and students will be awarded credits.
The objectives of the training programme is to enhance English language skills through better listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. They will also focus on developing quantitative ability especially in terms of problem-solving and data interpretation. Strengthening capacities for reasoning and applying logic, will also be their focus.
Soft skills development has become an important part of a student’s overall development. Students will be trained in intrapersonal and interpersonal skills, thus effectively resulting in better image management and GD-PI performances. The will also be guided through emotional coping and social skills.
“Having achieved a track record of good placements, Kalasalingam University now aims to move up the ladder by targeting higher salary offers and better placement ratios. For that to happen, grooming of students should start from the moment they set foot inside the campus, rather than at intermittent stages. The MoU ensures that the talents of the students are honed in a steady manner from day one and throughout their programme of study, thereby ensuring that they are industry-ready at the end of their program.” said Dr S Shasi Anand, Director, Kalasalingam University.
“Given the increasing competition in the recruitment scenario, forward looking institutions have started training their students from the early years with greater focus on strengthening fundamentals and adapting to industry needs,” said Archana Ram, Managing Director, SMART Training Resources.
