The complainant Gita, who claimed to be the granddaughter of Moturi Satyanarayana, a member in India’s first constituent assembly, said her mother Sarojini and Jayalalithaa’s mother Sandhya were intimate friends. Subsequently, through them and her brother she had become friendly with Jayalalithaa.
Alleging that Jayalalithaa’s death was mysterious, she sought the court to unravel the mystery of her friend’s treatment and expose the reasons behind her death. Also, in her compliant, she named 20 persons including those associated with Jayalalithaa and her funeral. She had also sought the court to direct the State Government to preserve the CCTV footages in the late Chief Minister’s residence at Poes Garden and the footages from the cameras installed in the Apollo Hospitals pending disposal of the petition.
It may be noted that the State Government on Monday released the medical report including the treatment details of Jayalalithaa. The report, which narrates the heart attack that Jayalalithaa suffered, the diabetes issues and the prolonged life support she was put through is expected to end the speculation surrounding her hospitalisation, treatment and death.
