I run an academy called The Roots Academy where I teach Class 12 students and professional courses like CA, CMA. I also work as an assistant professor at a business school. Usually, we don’t have any students in May as all their exams would be over by then. But this year, we had a lot of admissions from Class 12 students because of the lockdown. I am taking online classes for the students but it is not easy. One of the main issues is to get undivided attention from the students. I might have to repeat the classes again after the lockdown, in a real classroom, as the students were not attentive. I have been unable to conduct tests too as online tests are not very effective.
While these difficulties are faced while teaching CLass 12 students, it’d different while dealing with students of professional courses. They come to me for guidelines. They are more serious and tend to be very attentive during online classes. I take classes thrice a day for students professional courses — from 10 am to 11 am and 5 pm to 6 pm. Online classes like mine make parents happy as children are active during the lockdown. But online classes could be difficult to cope up with for students. It is not very effective, especially for weak students. They need personal attention.
