The investment banker turned MLA from the illustrious ‘Dravidian’ family has been interviewing candidates to appoint district-level functionaries of the DMK I-T wing. Barely a few months after taking over the reins of the newly formed wing, Thiyagarajan had submitted a report in November 2017 to Stalin. High on his agenda was appointing active youths with party ideological leanings as I-T functionaries, something even the DMK led by Stalin does not care to do much these days.
Impressed by his exuberance and vision plan, the party high command was understood to have entrusted the task of revamping the official website of DMK to the MLA. The overseas-educated legislator from the temple town had impressed Anna Arivalayam in the recent past by releasing a comprehensive report of TN’s economy. The way he had picked holes in the budget of CM Edappadi K Palaniswami and presented suggestions to lift the struggling economy of the state in his report had even impressed a few neutral observers who did not mind appreciating the MLAs efforts.!
