After several delays and postponements, Dhanush starrer Enai Nokki Paayum Thota directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon is all set to hit the screens today.
Chennai: For Dhanush’s fans who have been wondering why their matinee idol hasn’t promoted this film at all, here is the answer. Gautham Menon had asked Dhanush for bulk dates in October last year for 40 days. The actor agreed and allocated a huge chunk of his dates to complete the film in a single schedule. However, the director did not get back to Dhanush on the schedule. And when GVM finally said he did not have enough funds for the schedule, it was too late for the actor to reschedule his dates for other projects. As a result, he spent over a month at home without any work or assignments. That’s when he decided to distance himself from the film. There were also reports that it was Gautham who had dubbed for Dhanush for the first cut of the film which was submitted to the censor board. Yes, it’s true. Dhanush refused to dub because of an outstanding payment of Rs 1.5cr, and only after he was assured that he would be paid his dues on the day the film released (today), the actor agreed to dub for the film.
