The Dallas-based entity is known to leverage its strength in domain and technology, having rolled out the beta version of its Robotics Process Automation (RPA) platform solutions last year. Today, Access Healthcare has 12 delivery centres across the US and Philippines with a staff strength of 8,000-plus. It supports over 1.50 lakh physicians, serving 80+ specialties, processing over $50 bn of A/R annually, and ascribing medical codes to over 10 mn charts annually.
“We are in the business of creating value propositions for our clients, but not through the labour arbitrage route. Once our latest deal gets formalised, it will help us achieve the 10,000-headcount milestone by the year-end,” says Shaji Ravi, President-MD. The market in the US is still huge, offering scope for healthcare service providers to make sizeable incomes through offshoring models, he believes.
“We would like to break away from the perception of being a pure-play BPO company. Our intent is to leverage tools, technologies and open source platforms to build solutions that would enable us to present ourselves as a tech-driven company. We are on the verge of unveiling our AI platform that would give us an opportunity to build on our competencies and provide comprehensive workflow solutions,” he tells DTNext, as he took us through the rise of the company since its inception.
Shaji, who recently won the CII Entrepreneur of the Year award, is pragmatic when it comes to discussing the company’s growth strategies. After successfully building 300 Bots last year, using the RPA platform, Access Healthcare is ready to double the number of Bots this year. That would enable the company to position itself in the increasingly-popular Artificial Intelligence (AI) automation space, where firms such as Blue Prism operate to provide digital workforce.
The company registered an annual growth of 45 per cent in recent years. It has arranged its business in five verticals – KPO process, clinical, call centre, F&A and IT services. The last two are newer areas, where around 350 people are working to drive growth. Besides North America, a market dominated by service providers, Access Healthcare is looking at the UAE as an emerging market.
