Speaking at the Chinnikrishnan Innovation Awards, that recognises exemplary start-ups from emerging cities and nurtures their spirit of innovation, he said, “The collaborative efforts of many stakeholders, government, industry bodies and investors, to offer right infrastructure have amplified the growth of new-age entrepreneurship here.”
He adds, “More than the Intelligence Quotient or IQ, I think it’s the EQ or emotional quotient that is important for businesses to succeed. If you manage to control your emotions, both with yourselves, and with others, you hold the key to success in a big way.”
The scope of the awards was to recognise hidden entrepreneurial gems and bring them to limelight. The 6th edition of the CavinKare - MMA Chinnikrishnan Innovation Awards 2017 honoured three innovative entrepreneurs in an event held here recently. Kiran Karnik, former President, Nasscom and member, governing council, IIM Ahmedabad, graced the occasion.
A thought-provoking special discussion on the theme ‘An insight into innovation’ by actor-cum-debater Pattimandram S Raja and Bharathy Bhaskar, VP, Citibank were also organised during the awards. The award is to nurture small entrepreneurs, their innovative ideas apart from identifying growing small-scale enterprises in terms of uniqueness, people benefits and their ability to scale.
This award, established in 2011 commemorates the memory of Late R Chinnikrishnan, father of the sachet revolution. Awardees included Dr S Kavita, CEO-Director, FIB- SOL Life Technologies Pvt Ltd and G Venkatasubramaniyan, Inventor and Partner, CMR Bitplast.
