You can feel those butterflies in your tummy and also palpable stress running through your body.
Even the most confident ones among us sometimes spend hours wondering what to wear and how to present ourselves before the date. One can often find themselves caught in the dilemma of wondering how much make up is too much or too little. Here are some tips to keep it simple and play it real when you head out on your first date.
Prep your skin
Before beginning the makeup, it is wise to prep your skin. As soon as you step out of the shower, apply a gentle moisturiser on your face first. You can also use a tinted moisturiser to blur any blemishes and dark spots on your face. If you’re heading out for a coffee or lunch during the day time, dab on a little sunscreen with SPF to protect your skin from the sun.
Choose the foundation as per the occasion
If you’re meeting your date for the first time at a game, a club, or a concert, you might want to keep your makeup to fit the occasion. Use a foundation that suits your skin tone and blend it into your skin using a sponge evenly. Watch the amount of foundation you’re using as too much can feel too heavy.
Wing it with your eyeliner
A winged eyeliner can be fun, while making your eyes look bigger and drawing one’s attention towards your eyes. You can also add a bit of colour using coloured eyeliners for a playful look. If you are hitting a club for the date, you can dab on some eyeshadow as well.
Highlight your facial features
Adding a highlighter to your cheeks, jawline and the nose can perfect a great shimmer finish to your look. Pick the highlighter and run it along your cheekbones, nose bridge and the jaws. If you want a subtle glow, blend it onto your skin using a sponge.
Add some colour to your face
To add a bit of colour on to your cheeks, use a blush in a colour of your choice. Prefer colours like light pink or coral that can go well with your skin tone. Blend it well to give a naturally flushed look.
