Actor-artist Sivakumar and actor Suriya unveiled the documentary, directed by Dhananjyan, founder of BOFTA and produced by Panju Saroja Productions, on the 33th anniversary of Panchu alias Panchabakesan.
Producer AVM Kumaran, directors Mahendran, B Lenin, K Bhagyaraj, Vikraman, VC Guhanathan, P Vasu, Aroor Das, actors MN Rajam, Lakshmi, Kutty Padmini, Mohan Raman and many dignitaries graced the occasion.
Speaking at the event, Dhananjayan said Panchu’s third son Abimanyu approached him with an idea for the documentary and expressed interest to make documentaries on other icons from the film industry. Krishnan-Panju have together directed 41 films in Tamil, 11 in Hindi, three in Telugu and one film in Kannada.
Writer Gnani said the duo created a template for filmmaking for others to follow. Actor Suriya said he felt proud that he has played on the laps of the ace director duo and added that he wants to retrospect his contribution after watching the documentary.
