Colors Tamil will be launching a new fiction show called Myna on June 10. The new show will trail the journey of a seven-year-old girl, who becomes the central force in the fight for good vs evil.
With the families facing harsh realities of power-play and struggles to endure their everyday labour, Myna is born as a promise of freedom. Born into a system of injustice and enslavement, the intriguing story trails Myna’s resilience and courage to take on the antagonist, Singaperumal, a local political honcho and a wealthy landlord in her own charming free-spirited manner. Nithyanandan, director of the show, says, “Myna is the story of not just one child but many who struggle to break free from the shackles of bonded labour in a modern world. The show with its powerful story line will take the audience on a journey filled with resonating emotions of courage and conviction to fight injustice. Myna’s rebellious yet delightful nature in her battle with Singaperumal is sure to strike a chord with the audience. We are confident that the show will break free from the clutter and offer an inspiring story of survival and hope.”
Along with Divyadarshini, who plays the seven-year-old Myna, the show will feature a stellar line-up of artists including Vishwaroopam fame, Mukthar Khan, who plays the antagonist Singaperumal, Tamil TV actor Ranjith as Kanthasamy, Myna’s father and Sreevani as Kasturi, Myna’s mother.
