The buzz in the industry is that Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kaala, which was originally scheduled to release on April 27, has now been postponed to June.

A still from the film Kaala
Chennai:
Sources say that the movie might hit the screens for the Eid weekend and would lock horns with Vikram’s Saamy Square. Earlier, Dhanush’s Vada Chennai was scheduled to release for the Eid weekend. It looks like, Dhanush, who has produced Kaala, might postpone Vada Chennai (which is also produced by him) to make way for Superstar’s film.
In Kaala, Rajinikanth plays a slum-lord-turned gangster. The film also stars Nana Patekar, Pankaj Tripathi, Anjali Patil, Huma Qureshi and Samuthirakani in pivotal roles.
According to director Ranjith, Kaala is about the diverse families which live in Mumbai’s Dharavi slum, filled with people from different cultures and languages.
