Apart from playing myriad roles on screen, Rana Daggubati, arguably the most eligible bachelor in tinsel town, is also known for his fitness obsession. At the same time, we hear the actor is quite a foodie.
Recalling his earliest memories of food, he said, “The aroma of mouth-watering South Indian delicacies made by my grandmother, wafting in the living room, is still fresh in my memory. When I would return from school, I would see her in the kitchen with piping-hot sambar on the stove, steaming idlis and crispy dosas.” However, Hyderabadi haleem and biryani are his absolute favourites. “It is one of the reasons why I look forward to Ramzan every year in Hyderabad. The festival gives me a chance to savour the customary home-cooked haleem with my old city friends,” added Rana.
Like most of us, Rana finds his mother’s cooking unbeatable. “No other chef can be as perfect as my mom.
Her formula for good food never fails as it is served with lots of love,” he said.
But does he cook? “Yes, I do. For me, cooking is very relaxing. Chopping and grating vegetables de-stresses me.
I find cooking a fun activity especially when I have to cook for someone,” he added.
What would he make for his special someone? “I would prepare an Italian meal comprising lasagne or stuffed shells with garlic bread and bread sticks.”
