Bosu ball is a fitness training device that is often used for balance training. It consists of an inflated rubber hemisphere attached to a rigid platform.
“Balancing on a Bosu ball is challenging. So, if you can balance on a ball, then you can do exercises easily. Apart from burning calories, Bosu ball exercises build core, overall strength and improve balance, stability and flexibility,” he tells us.
It’s not advised for beginners, as the chances of injury are high. While working out with a Bosu ball, make sure that you focus and align properly. People with shoulder, knee and back injuries should avoid exercising with this ball.
Squatting with the dome side up
Stand on the ball with legs hip-width apart and squat. This would help in strengthening muscles on the legs.
Push-ups with dome side down
Lie down in a prone position and keep your hands on the flat side of the ball so that your upper body has proper support. It will help work your core, triceps, chest, and shoulders.
Bicep curls with the dome side up
Stand on the ball and when you are balanced, get the dumbbells and start bicep curl slowly. This helps in increasing biceps strength.
