The trust founded by Rajadharshini, an international chess player, works closely with several homes for children and senior citizens and has organised several events to raise funds for the economically weaker sections of society.

The members of the trust hail from different backgrounds such as college students, software engineers, dentists, etc and they have come together for a cause. Initially, the number of volunteers were too few to make a difference but they continued to strive for their cause and the group has grown into the entity it is today.

The Chennai floods in 2015 acted as the catalyst that bought the members of the trust together. Speaking to DT Next , Rajadarshini said, “During the floods, our organisation collected Rs 2 lakh to aid the people suffering in Chennai. While carrying out volunteering work, we established contacts with several like-minded people from across the state who would later join our cause.”

With renewed vigour, the volunteers set about to identify worthy students from economically weaker sections of society and decided to enable them to fulfil their educational aspirations.

The volunteers from across the state did an extensive study and selected 60 school and college students. They also managed to collect Rs 1.5 lakh from generous benefactors who were willing to further the educational objectives of these students and the funds were distributed to the students during the inauguration of their new building. Among them a differently abled student from Madurai Kamaraj University received the highest sum of Rs 25,000.
