I live in Kosapet and the liquor shop near my house is turning out to be a big nuisance to residents. The shop is located within a 100m radius of a government primary school and is a serious violation of statutory requirement on location of liquor shops. Despite many protests from the residents, the shop continues to function.
People get drunk and create a ruckus on the streets. During the nights, it is impossible to walk, as many men drink openly here. After getting drunk, many of them end up vomiting or relieving themselves on the streets, creating a mess. The stench is unbearable, especially in the summer heat. Residents cannot walk freely in the evenings, as people huddle around the shop to buy their drink after work.
What is extremely disturbing is that a number of street children lurk around the shop and sometimes even manage to get a bottle. I request the authorities to remove the TASMAC shop or move it to another place.
